Government of Canada supports opioid overdose response training in B.C. and Yukon

Initiative will train first aid attendants to administer naloxone and artificial respiration

The opioid overdose crisis continues to have a devastating effect on individuals, families

and communities across the country, taking the life of a Canadian every two hours. The Government of Canada is taking a compassionate, comprehensive, collaborative and evidence-based approach to address the opioid crisis. This includes ensuring the widespread availability of naloxone and opioid overdose response training to help reduce opioid-related overdoses and deaths in Canadian workplaces and communities.
